Skins and Hides
Our skins and hides are marketed under the names Western Australian
Skin and Hide Industries and Victoria Australia Skin and Hide
Industries.
WASHI was established in 1993 and has been supplying top and middle
range skins to the overseas market consistently through this
period. Western Australian sheep skins are extremely good for
the production of shoe lining due to the thin and soft pelt, skins from
the south of Western Australia rival Victorian skins at their
best.
VASHI was established in 1998 to extend WASHI's penetration into the
Eastern States of Australia. Victorian skins are usually
slightly larger than WA skins and due to the cooler climate, the skins
are thicker and highly suitable for nappa, mutton and double face.
WASHI and VASHI market sheep, lamb, cross breed sheep, goat, kangaroo
and rabbit skins as well as cattle hides.
